Surgery Description

A visible opening in the posterior capsule is present in a post-vitrectomy eye undergoing cataract-implant surgery.

Techniques that minimize posterior dislocation of lens material and permit capsular fixation of the IOL are presented.

After completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to perform phacoemulsification and implant techniques that facilitate cataract-IOL surgery in post-vitrectomized eyes with an open posterior capsule.

Partial credit of individual sessions is not available.
